Objectives
Communicating the most important features of a product at the POS and at the same time offering consumers a playful experience - one of the greatest challenges of retail design. For the new SAMSUNG flagship smartphone Galaxy S9 two of those brandnew features were the super slow motion and the lowlight aperture. But how to explain these features to the customer? Especially not in a boring way, but explaining it playfully at the POS?
How were the objectives met?
We have successfully tackled this task with the development of the "SloMo Gyroscope" for SAMSUNG. The solution was the new edition of a well-known children's toy: the humming top. We transformed it into the 21st century and, using sophisticated technology, show two of the highlight features of the camera on the new flagship smartphone Galaxy S9: super slow-motion and lowlight aperture, which guarantees fantastic shots even in the dark. Costumers could try out the shooting ability of the Galaxy S9 in super slow motion (960 frames per second) by filming fast rotating spaceships inside the humming top and the F1.5 lowlight aperture by discovering two tiny astronauts on the pitch-dark surface of the moon. There was also the possibility for the costumer of comparing it to his own smartphone.
