Tawla’s brand promise is to serve the best of Eastern Mediterranean food that stays true to its origin, offering authentic, home-cooking-inspired dishes that have been largely ignored outside of their region while avoiding stereotypical Middle Eastern fare like falafel, hummus and kebabs. The restaurant’s owner, a former marketing executive at a Fortune 50 company, wanted the restaurant’s composition, like its cuisine, to eschew typical middle eastern design motifs in favor of a contemporary, but authentic, take on eastern mediterranean culture and aesthetics.
