Objectives
The assignment was clear and direct, to provide the most iconic symbolic device to own the holiday selling season for Budweiser and its numerous products. Budweiser has a rich history associated with the holiday selling season, nothing is more recognizable during that time period then their world-famous Clydesdales Horse and red wagon. During this critical selling period, large case stackings of product are the norm and since Budweiser is one of the leading beers in the US, they needed to capture as much product placement and attention as possible. An additional
objective was to create a pivotal placement to Christmas thus allowing it to possibly live longer in the stores and, through Super Bowl. The intent for this display is grocery, mass merchants, club and large liquor stores that believe and admire the history of the Clydesdale Horses. This piece needed to be adjustable so that it could increase and decrease as sales were achieved.
How were the objectives met?
As this is one of the top selling brands during the holiday season, compliance was substantial at over 90%, additionally, in today’s competitive marketing world, the beer wholesaler and distributor is solely responsible for the cost associated with this display. This resulted in a high compliance rate, for parties knew the importance of having this piece utilized in the store. Everyone recognized the Budweiser Wagon and the Clydesdale Horse, but this almost like life like version provided each and every store the opportunity to represent this iconic brand in an iconic
interactive nature. During the holiday selling period there was a 40% lift in sales and so the brand marketing team intends to replicate this exact display for years to come.
